Richmond loses in the first round of the playoffs to NW Guilford and finish their season 8-3.
For the first time in 17 years Scotland defeated the Raiders. The Scots got out of the gate fast and put up 28 points against Richmond in the first half. The Raiders could not gather any momentum in the second half and Scotland finished out the win scoring twice more before Richmond got on in the board. With the win Scotland clinches the conference championship and the Raiders finish the regular season 8-2.
Richmond's defense played bend but don't break and only gave up one score and made an important stop late in the fourth to wrap up the victory. In the defensive battle, the Raiders were able to score twice but had a few stalled drives against the Patriots stubborn defense.
Congratulations to the latest Raiders selected to the North Carolina Shrine Bowl team! DL Antoine Crouch and DB/RB Steve Houston will represent Richmond Senior and the North Carolina Tar Heels against the South Carolina Sandlappers in the 75th Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.

The Raiders found themselves in another tight game for the third week in a row. Richmond used two huge plays in the fourth quarter to pull out the 27-22 win over Lumberton.
Richmond led 20-15 after QB Brent Flowers connected with Kole Stanley for a td pass with 6:15 remaining in the game. On the next series the Pirates marched deep into Richmond territory and threatened the Raiders lead before DB Robert Williams intercepted a Pirate pass to keep them out of the endzone. Two plays later the Raiders pulled away for good when RB Steve Houston broke away for an 89 yard touchdown run.
Richmond sweat it out in another tight game this week against the Purnell Swett Rams in the Raiders homecoming. The Raiders had a touchdown lead and the ball before fumbling the ball away to the Rams deep in their own territory, with a little over three minutes in the game remaining.
Swett took the ball in for a score with a bit more than a minute to go. The Rams went for two and the lead, instead of kicking the extra point and the Raiders cut it close before stopping them short and getting the 42-41 win.
Richmond put together a much better first half performance this week against the West Forsyth Titans and lead 27-0 at the half and going on to a 41-13 victory. Richmond turned the ball over 4 times in the first half and found themselves down 21-10 at the half against the South View Tigers. The offense pulled together and the defense held tight in a comeback victory in the second half for the Raiders.
After jumping out to a quick 7-0 lead Friday night, the Raiders were slowed by the weather when the game was delayed to Sat. due lightning and severe storms. Richmond got the win Saturday night after taking a 17-7 lead to the half and taking over in the second half winning 45-20.
With Richmond leading 7-0 and a little over 4 minutes remaining in the first quarter, lightning and rain stopped the game. The game will be resumed at Anson on Saturday 9/3/2011 at 7 pm.
Richmond continues to impress with a victory over Lee County in week 2. The offense scored on its first play from scrimmage and never looked back while the defense held solid all night. The Raiders are 2-0 on the season after the 44-7 win over the Yellow Jackets.
Richmond got off to a great start for the 2011 season with an impressive win over a quality Sun Valley team. The Raider offense was rolling early leading 27-0 after the first quarter and the defense played very well against Sun Valley's numerous offensive weapons. Richmond HB/Returner Dakwa Nichols scored 6 Td's in the 70-28 Raider victory.
